In the world of Disney characters, I have always been fascinated by the work of Marc Davis. A brilliant animator and character designer, he is responsible for some of the studio’s greatest female figures: the sublime Aurora, Maleficent, and even Cruella de Vil.
Among his many reinterpretations of classic fairy tale characters, one has become a true icon of popular culture: Tinker Bell.
A tiny but strong-willed fairy, she embodies grace, mischief, and a certain innocent sensuality.
I wanted to capture this brief moment where our little fairy discovers her reflection in a mirror with wonder: a suspended instant where the magic of animation meets the magic of self-perception.
